Implementation of the prohibition Policy in the state - Guidelines to deal with
the cases of Government servants who are involved in violation of the
Prohibition Policy - Issued.
The Government is fully committed to implement the prohibition policy strictly and vigorously in the state. In this arduous task the Government officials are expected to work whole heartedly in implementing the prohibition policy and make it a grand success in the state. Government officials, therefore, set an example to others. It would be tragic if Government officials themselves violate the provisions relating to prohibition. Government should thus have to take deterrent action against them. Government, therefore, issue the following instructions
2. If any Government official is involved in the Commission of any offence under the prohibition Act, like buying, selling, consuming, and possessing liquor, he should immediately be arrested and produced before the Magistrate in public view and any bail petition on behalf of such accused officials for the Commission of Cognizable and non-bailable offence should be strongly opposed and bail refused. In addition to the prosecution under the prohibition Act, such Government officials should also be dealt with by initiating disciplinary action against them for a major penalty.
3. All the Heads of Departments/Departments of Secretariat / District Collectors / District Judges are requested to ensure that the above instructions are followed vigorously and scrupulously. Violation of the above instructions will be viewed seriously. They are requested to bring these instructions to the notice of all the authorities under their control in the state, for implementation.
