Circular Memo.No.73501-Nl925/Fr.I/75-1,                                                                                                     Dated 6-4-1976
Sub: Leave Rules - Liberalisation of leave rules - Certain clarification.

In the G.O.Ms.No.208, Fin. & Pig. (Fin.Wing FR.I) Department dated 16-8-1975, orders were issued allowing Government servants to encash earned leave/privilege leave, at their credit on the date of superannuation subject to a maximum of 120 days by the authority competent to sanction pension. The orders extending the benefit of encashment of leave are operative only with effect from 1st June 1975.

A doubt was raised whether such of these employees who retired from service on having reaching the age of superannuation in the afternoon of 31st May, 1975 are eligible or not to the benefits of encashment of leave ordered in the G.O. Ms. No. 208, Fin. & Pig. (Fin. Wing F.R. I) Department dated 16-8-1975. It is now clarified that encashment of leave is not permissible to such of those employees who retired in the afternoon of 31st May 1975 and entered on pension with effect from the Forenoon of 1st June 1975.

R. RAJAMANI,
Joint Secretary to Government.
