ORDER:
 
In the Government order 1st read above, the limits for payment of ex-gratia allowance were fixed in respect of Non-Gazetted Government Servants on a pay not exceeding Rs. 500/- per month in the Dearness Allowance-merged scales of pay of 1974 and all Government Servants in the last grade service while on extraordinary leave for treatment of tuberculosis/Leprosy/Cancer and Mental illness.
 
In the Government order read above, the limits for payment of ex-gratia allowance were raised according to Revised Scales of Pay, 1978 and amendment was issued for Note (4) under Rule 28 and 29 as follows: -
 
For Note (4) under Rule 28:

"A non-gazetted Government servant on a pay not exceeding Rs. 700/- per month in the Revised Pay Scales, 1978 while on Extra-ordinary Leave for treatment of Tuberculosis/Leprosy/Cancer and Mental illness, is entitled to an ex-gratia allowance equal to half of his pay subject to a minimum of Rs. 220/- per month and a maximum of Rs. 350/- per month.

 
For note under rule 29:

Note: A Government servant in the Last Grade Service while on extraordinary Leave for treatment of Tuberculosis / Leprosy / Cancer and Mental illness is entitled to an exgratia allowance equal to half of his pay subject to a minimum of Rs. 150/- per month and a maximum of Rs. 220/- per month

 
Consequent on the introduction of the Revised pay Scales of 1986 and 1993, the Government after careful consideration decided to raise the existing limits as specified below with immediate effect: -

I. 

 

 

1)      For Non-gazetted Officers drawing pay up to Rs. 1280/- per month in the corresponding pay scales of 1986

 

2)      For Last Grade employees

 

Half pay subject to a minimum of Rs. 400/- per month and maximum Rs. 640/- per month.

 

Half pay subject to a minimum of Rs. 375/- per month and maximum of Rs. 575/- per month

 

    II.             

1) For Non-gazetted Officers drawing pay up to Rs. 2375/per month in the corresponding pay scales of 1993

 

2)      For the Last Grade employees

 

Half pay subject to a minimum of Rs. 780/- per month and maximum of Rs. 1185/- per month

 Half pay subject to a minimum of Rs. 690/- per month and maximum of Rs. 1050/- per month


        Further, it has also been decided to extend the above facilities to the employees suffering from heart diseases and Renal failure (kidney failure) with immediate effect.
 
The following notifications will be published in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette:

NOTIFICATION - I
 
In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 read with article 313 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby makes the following amendment to the Andhra Pradesh Leave Rules, 1933 contained in Annexure-III of the Fundamental Rules: -

AMENDMENT
In the said rules: -
 
(a) In rule 28, for Note (4) thereunder the foll0wing Note shall be substituted, namely: -
 
Note 4: - (1) A non-gazetted Government servant on a pay not exceeding Rs.1280/- per month in the Revised Pay Scales, 1986 while on extraordinary leave for treatment of Tuberculosis / Leprosy / Cancer / Mental illness / Heart diseases / Renal failure (kidney) is entitled to an ex-gratia allowance equal to half of his pay subject to a minimum of Rs. 400/- per month and maximum of Rs. 640/- per month.
 

(2) A non-gazetted Government servant on a pay not exceeding Rs. 2375/- per months in the Revised Pay Scales, 1993 while on Extraordinary Leave for treatment of Tuberculosis / Leprosy / Cancer / Mental illness / Heart diseases / Renal failure is entitled to an ex-gratia allowance equal to half of his pay subject to a minimum of Rs.780 per month and maximum of Rs. 1185/- per month.

(b) in rule 29, for the Note thereunder the following Note shall be substituted, namely: -
 

Note: (i) A Government servant in the Last Grade service in the Revised Pay Scales, 1986 while on Extraordinary Leave for treatment of Tuberculosis / Leprosy / Cancer / Mental illness / Heart diseases / Rental failure (kidney failure) is entitled to an ex-gratia allowance equal to half of his pay subject to a minimum of Rs. 375/- per month and maximum of Rs. 575/- per month.

 

(ii) A Government servant in the Last Grade Service in the Revised Pay Scales of 1993, while on Extraordinary Leave for treatment of Tuberculosis / Leprosy / Cancer / Mental illness / Heart Diseases / Renal failure (kidney failure) is entitled to an ex-gratia allowance equal to half of his pay subject to a minimum of Rs. 690/- per month and maximum of Rs. 1050/- per month.

NOTIFICTION - II
In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby makes the following amendment to the Hyderabad Civil Service Rules.
AMENDMENT
In the said rules, in rule 444, in sub-rule (2), in clause (iii) (c), for Note (3) thereunder the following Note shall be substituted, namely: -
 

Note (3): (a) (i) A non-gazetted Government servant on a pay not exceeding Rs. 1280/- per month in the Revised Pay Scales, 1986, while on extraordinary leave for treatment of Tuberculosis / Leprosy / Cancer / Mental illness/Heart diseases/Renal failure (kidney failure) is entitled to an exgratia allowance equal to half of his pay subject to a minimum of Rs. 400/- per month and maximum of Rs. 640/- per month.

 
(ii) A non-gazetted Government servant on a pay not exceeding Rs. 2375/- per month in Revised pay Scales, 1993, while on Extraordinary Leave for treatment of Tuberculosis / Leprosy / Cancer / Mental illness / Heart disease / Renal failure (kidney failure) is entitled to an exgratia allowance equal to half of his pay subject to a minimum of Rs. 780/- per month and maximum of Rs. 1185/- per month.
 

(b) (i) A Government servant in the Last Grade Service while on Extraordinary Leave in the Revised Pay Scales of 1986 for treatment of Tuberculosis / Leprosy / Cancer / Mental illness / Heart diseases / Renal failure (kidney failure) is entitled to an ex-gratia allowance equal to half of his pay subject to a minimum of Rs. 375/- per month and maximum of Rs. 575/- per month.

 

(ii) A Government servant in the Last Grade Service in the Revised Pay Scales, 1993 while on Extraordinary Leave for treatment of Tuberculosis / Leprosy / Cancer / Mental illness / Heart diseases / Renal failure (kidney failure) is entitled to an ex-gratia -allowance equal to half of his pay subject to a minimum of Rs. 690/- per month and maximum of Rs. 1050/- per month.
