The
A.P.N.G.Os Association in their representation have submitted that due to unprecedented floods that erupted on
23.08.2000 midnight and early hours of
24.08.2000 several areas were inundated with heavy rains and several
families left their house shelter
skelter with their belongings. Number of main roads and approach roads were
also breached away. On account of this number of employees could not attend to
their duties with fear of life and safety on 24.08.2000 and on 25.08.2000. They submitted that, due to Bandh call given
by the opposition parties, no public transport plied on the roads on 29.08.2000
on several routes and even where they plied only for a short distance. Therefore,
the employees could not attend Offices on 29.08.2000. They have requested the
Government to grant Special Casual leave to those employees who did not attend
their duties 24.08.2000, 25.08.2000 and on 29.08.2000
i) 24th and 25th August
2000 due to natural calamity and
ii) 29.08.2000,
due to non-availability of transport facility due to Bandh call given by
Opposition Parties.
