Andhra Pradesh for the purpose of employment by recruitment or promotion -

In his representation first read above, the President, Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers Central Union, Hyderabad has brought to the notice of Government that, according to Rule 12 of State and Subordinate Service Rules, for consideration to the appointment to the post of Junior Assistant, the requisite educational qualification is Intermediate; 10 + 2 or its equivalent one. Therefore, some of the Appointing Authorities are not considering the Senior Secondary School Certificate issued by the National Open School, New Delhi as eligible educational qualification for appointment to the posts of Junior Assistant by treating it as equivalent to Intermediate / 10+2 and rejecting the plea of candidates based on the clarification issued by the Board of Intermediate Education as it is equivalent to 2 years Intermediate course of Intermediate Board of Andhra Pradesh and the candidates who possess such qualification, are eligible for admission to other professional/higher studies where the selection process is conducted through an entrance test only. Due to that clarification, the Appointing Authorities are not considering the plea of the candidates in appointments/promotions of Junior Assistant Post and most of the employees who have completed their education under Senior Secondary School Certificate are facing problems in regularising their services and in promotion. He has, therefore, requested the Government to pass appropriate orders on treating the SSC of National Open School of New Delhi as equivalent to Intermediate / 10 + 2 for all purposes such as education and employment. Certain Departments of Secretariat have also sought same clarification in this regard.
2. The Secretary, Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad in his letter second read above who was requested to offer his remarks in the matter has informed now that the Senior Secondary School Certificate of National Open School, New Delhi as recognized one and is equivalent to, two-year Intermediate Course of A.P. Board of Intermediate Education, Hyderabad for the purpose of employment by recruitment or promotion.
3. In view of the circumstances stated above, Government hereby agreed that the Senior Secondary School Certificate issued by the National Open School, New Delhi, which is recognized one, is equivalent to two-year Intermediate Course of Board of intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh for the purpose of employment by recruitment or promotion.
4. The Secretary, Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad is directed to issue necessary instructions to all the concerned in the matter
