ORDER:
In the Government order read above orders have been issued enhancing the period of maternity leave from 90 days to 120 days in respect of married female Govt. servants, subject to the condition that it should be granted to those with less than two surviving children i.e., maternity leave should not be granted if a female Govt. Servant is having two living children. In para 5 of the said Govt. Order, it has been mentioned that the orders shall come into force with immediate effect i.e., 10-11-1995.
Government
have received representations from several individuals for extending the
benefit of 120 days to those who are on maternity leave prior to 10-11-1995.
Government
after careful examination of the matter, hereby order that the benefit of the
G.O.Ms.No.254, Fin. & Pig. (FW-FR.I) Dept., dated 10-11-1995 shall be
extended to those female Government servants who are already on maternity leave
on the day of issue of the orders, provided they satisfy the conditions laid
down therein.
