ORDER:

Government decided to abolish the posts of village Assistants and to strengthen and re-organise the Village Level Functionaries, keeping in view the needs of Village Administration. Accordingly, the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation of Village Functionaries Ordinance was promulgated on 5-11-1990 and the posts of Village Assistants stand abolished with effect from the said date.

2. Section 5 (1) of the Ordinance stipulated that the Government shall create such number of supernumerary posts of Junior Assistants as are required to accommodate all the Village Assistants whose posts are abolished, until they are absorbed in equivalent posts. In pursuance of the above provision, the Government hereby sanction the creation of 4,800 supernumerary posts of Junior Assistants in the Dist. Administration in Revenue Department in the scale of Rs. 910-1625 for a period of one year from 5-11-1990 or till the necessity ceases for them, whichever is earlier.

3. The Village Assistants whose posts are abolished with effect from 5-11-1990 shall continue in their respective posts in the supernumerary posts created in para 2 above and;

a) shall discharge the same duties which they were performing prior to the abolition of the posts of Village Assistants, till they are replaced by the new Village Level Functionaries to be appointed;

and

 

b) after the new Village Level Functionaries assume office, the Junior Assistants shall, until they are absorbed in the equivalent posts by the Collector of the concerned District discharge such duties as are entrusted to them by the concerned Dist. Collector in any Office under his administrative control.

4. The sanctioned in para 2 above shall be eligible to draw the D.A. and other allowances admissible under the rules.

5. The expenditure on account of the staff sanctioned above shall be debited to "2053. District Administration - M.H. 094. Other Establishment - S.H. (012) Revenue Manda! Administration (016). Salaries".

 

6. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance and Planning Department, vide their U.O.No. y.90/10/1053/1022/ER/90, dated 16-10-90.
