In the G.O. 6th read above, Government have extended the concessions for the Backward Classes till the end of May 2011 in respect of reservations in Educational Institutions as well as reservations in services including the percentage of reservations of posts, age concession of 5 years for the purpose of recruitment.

Government have further reviewed the matter of reservations of seats in Educational Institutional and reservation of posts in Services for Backward Classes (all categories i.e., A, B, C, D and E) and decided to extend the period of reservation in Educational Institutions and reservation in services for another 10 years.
3. Accordingly, Government hereby extend the concessions for Backward Classes (all categories i.e., A, B,C, D and E) in respect of reservation of seats in Educational Institutions as well as reservations in services including the percentage of reservation of posts, age concession of 5 years for the purpose of recruitment for a further period of 10 years with effect from 1st June, 2011, subject to the review/ revision of lists of Backward Classes that may be suggested by the Andhra Pradesh Commission for Backward Classes after conducting the necessary Socio, Educational and Economic Survey of Backward Classes. However, the reservation in favour of Backward Classes Group-E is subject to outcome of Civil Appeal Nos.2628-2637/2010 etc., pending before the Supreme Court.
4. Necessary amendments to the General Rules and Special Rules shall be issued by the concerned Administrative Departments separately.
5. All the Departments of Secretariat and Heads of Departments are requested to take necessary action to implement the above orders accordingly.
