Services - Compassionate appointments to the spouse / son / daughter of
Government employees who dies in harness - Particulars of vacancies called for.

In the G.O. first cited (copy enclosed) the following
orders were issued:
i) where
a vacancy is available and an eligible dependent could be appointed in such a
vacancy with reference to his qualifications and subject to provisions of rule
of reservation, the appointing authority may appoint him straightaway and duly
intimate the fact to the District Collector / General Administration (I.C.)
Department, as the case may be.
ii) In cases where there is no vacancy or the dependent cannot be appointed even if a vacancy is available as he is not qualified to hold such post or as the vacancy is meant for Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes I Backward Class candidate, the appointing authority shall report the vacancy, while forwarding the application of the eligible dependent to the nodal authority for appointment to any vacancy in the District / in the Twin Cities as the case may be.

Further the appointing authorities were requested to furnish a monthly report
of vacancies existing in their offices along with the details of applications received
from the dependants of the deceased and forwarded to the nodal agency i.e. to
General Administration (IC) Department in the prescribed format.

It has been noticed that the appointing authorities instead of furnishing the
information as required above are sending proposals for consideration for compassionate
appointment to Government without obtaining the following documents from the
applicants:
1.
Death Certificate
2.
Legal Heir Certificate
3.
Educational Qualifications with date of birth proof certificate.
4.
No earning Member declaration form the applicant seeking employment.
5.
No objection declaration from the other family members.
6. Financial status of the family members from the Revenue Divisional Officer concerned verify whether the family is very poor and deserving for the compassionate appointments, under the scheme.

Hence the appointing authorities are requested to notify the vacancies in the
prescribed format to Government in General Administration (I.C.) Department and
also to send the proposals with the above required documents to examine the
cases. If no vacancies are available, a 'Ni l' report may be sent in the
matter, every month as desired in the G.O. first cited.
