Sub:-Public Services - Retirement of Government employees on Medical Invalidation and Compassionate appointment to the dependents – Certain instructions - Issued.
Ref:- 1.G.O.Ms.No.214,GA(Ser.A)Dept.,dt. 09.06.1998.
2. Memo.No.1299l /Ser.A/2001,G.A.(Ser.A)Dept., dt.30.03.2001.

In the G.O. 1st cited, instructions were
issued regarding the retirement of Government employees on Medical Invalidation
and related Compassionate appointments to their dependents. In the Memo.2nd
cited, a proforma was prescribed to furnish information so as to place the
matter before the State Level Committee of Officers or District Level Committee
of Officers, as the case may be.
2. It is noticed that, the proposals to place
the matter before the Committees are being reached very close to the date on
which the employee will be crossing the required (5) five years limit of left
over service for retirement and consequently the Committees are not in a
position to recommend for compassionate appointment to the dependents, in view
of the fact that on the date of meeting of the Committees, the employee is not
having (5) five years left over service.
3. According to the orders issued in
G.O.Ms.No.309, G.A.(Ser.A) Department, dt.04.07 .1985 the employee shall
necessarily have (5) years of left over service as on date of retirement on
medical invalidation so as to consider the compassionate appointment to the
dependent. Due to lack of sufficient time on the date of receipt of the
proposal to place the matter before the Committee, the Committee is not in a
position to recommend compassionate appointment to the dependents.
4. Keeping in view the above, the Departments
of Secretariat / HODs/ District Collectors are requested to ensure that the
proposals for retirement on medical invalidation and related compassionate
appointment to the dependents of such Government employee are submitted well in
advance and not less than ( 15) days before the date on which the employee will
be crossing the (5) five years limit of left over service for retirement from
the unit office to place the proposal before the State Level Committee of
Officers/ District Level Committee of Officers, as the case may be.
