ORDER:

In the G.Os third and fourth read above the Director of School Education has been delegated with powers to effect alteration of date of birth in respect of all clerical mistakes in all schoo] records and completed School Leaving Certificates and power to make correction in respect of date of birth in a completed School Leaving Certificate where courts of Law are involved and where the Collectors sent their
reports based on unimpeachable evidence.

2. Government after careful consideration and with a view to delegate greater powers to Director of School Education for speady finalisation of the cases and to avoid unnecessary hardship to the applicants in getting changes effected early have decided to delegate certain more powers to Director of School Education.

3. Accordingly, the Director of School Education is empowered to effect corrections in respect of date of birth in a completed School Leaving Certificate, Higher Secondary Certificate or Higher Secondary (Multipurpose) Certificate even though a candidate applies for alteration after a period of three years from the date of completion of the said course.

Amendment

For the existing Rule 11 introduced in the G.O. second read above, the following shall be substituted.


"The Director of School Education is empowered to entertain and effect corrections in respect of the applications for the correction of the date of birth in a completed Secondary School Leaving Certificate, Higher Secondary Certificate Higher Secondary (Multipurpose) Certificate, even though such applications are made after three years from the date of completion of the said course."
