ORDER:
 
At the State Level Workshop on Good Governance and Performance indicators held on 16th and 17th May, 2002 at the Dr. MCR HRD Institute, attended by Hon'ble Chief Minister, Ministers, Special Chief Secretaries / Principal Secretaries / Secretaries to Government and Heads of Departments, the following recommendations were made in regard to the need for ensuring prompt action on the report of Vigilance Agencies.

"A mechanism has to be set up for periodic review of the reports from the Vigilance Agencies to ensure prompt action."

In the G.Os 1st and 2nd read above, orders have been issued setting up of a High Level Committee headed by Chief Secretary for periodical review of activities of anticorruption agencies of Government. In the reference 4th cited, instructions have been issued regarding periodic review of the vigilance, disciplinary and criminal cases. However, in view of the poor compliance of suggestions made by the Vigilance Agencies and the poor disposal of vigilance cases. Government have accepted the above suggestion and accordingly direct that the Chief Vigilance Officers / Vigilance Officers shall submit fortnightly reports to the Secretaries to Government / Heads of Departments as the case may be, in respect of Vigilance disciplinary and criminal cases concerning the departments. The Secretaries to Government/Heads of Departments shall in tum review the reports and issue instructions for prompt action in respect of each case. The High-Level Committee shall include a periodic Department-wise review of the above issues in its deliberations.
