Fundamental Rules - Fixation of pay under FR 22(a)(iv) - Date of next Increment
- Clarification - Issued.

The pay under FR 22(a)(iv) to a regular Government Servant when
appointed directly to another post, under the Government on selection by APPSC
shall be fixed in the new post at a stage which is not lower than the pay drawn
by him in the earlier post.
It is noticed that some of the Departments i.e. Home Dept. and
Education Depts have done the pay fixation under FR-22(a)(iv) to certain
Assistant Section Officers and also allowed the next increment with effect from
the date of increment in their previous post.
Government have examined the matter and hereby clarify that protection
of pay only is allowed in respect of fixation under the above rule, but there
is no rule for protection of increment date in the previous post.
All the Departments and Heads of Depts. are requested to follow the
above rule scrupulously.
