1.
Short title:
These rules may be called the Andhra Pradesh Commercial Taxes Service Rules, 1994.

Constitution –
The
service shall consist of the following categories of posts.

Subject to the other provisions in these rules, the method of appointment for the several categories shall be as follows:

Reservation of appointments: -
[(a)
Except in so far as it relates to Visually Handicapped persons, the rule of
Special reservation (General Rule 22) *[shall apply to the posts of Commercial
Tax Officers for appointment by each method of direct recruitment, transfer and
promotion]. The reservation in favour of Hearing Handicapped persons shall be 1%
and the reservation in favour of Orthopedically handicapped persons shall be

(b) ln the matter of direct recruitment to the post of Commercial Tax Officers, other things being equal, preference shall be given to women and that they shall be selected to an extent of atleast 30 (thirty per cent) of the posts in each category of O.C.; B.C.(A); B.C.(B); B.C.(C); B.C.(D); S.C. and S.T. in terms of General Rule 22(a) of the State and Subordinate Services Rules.

Qualifications and Age: -
(b) No person shall be eligible for appointment as Commercial Tax Officer by direct recruitment, if he/she has completed the age of 28 years on the first day of July of the year in which vacancy is notified by the competent authority.

Minimum Service: -
No person shall be. eligible for appointment by transfer or promotion unless he is an approved probationer and has put in not less than three years of service in the category from which promotion or transfer is made.
7.
Probation: -
(a) Every
person appointed by direct recruitment shall be on probation for a period of
two years on duty within a continuous period of three years from the date on
which one commences probation.
(b) Every person appointed by promotion/transfer shall be on probation for a period of one year on duty within a continuous period of two years from the date on which one commences probation.

of a University in India established or incorporated by or under a Central
Act or a State Act or any other equivalent recognized qualification.
Must have passed the

Government Technical Examination in Book-Keeping by the Lower Grade or any
other qualification which is recognised as an equivalent by the State
Government; (ii)
The Account Test for Executive Officers or the Account Test for Subordinate
Officers, Parts I and II; [(iii)
